
Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse is currently an AIMS-Canada Research Chair in Climate Change Science. The project she is embarking on is focused on understanding the climate dynamics of Africa, climate observations and projections for climate services. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics, University of Ghana. She was a senior research scientist at the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission as well as the manager of the remote sensing and Climate Center at the Institute.
Prof. Browne Klutse holds a PhD in Climatology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Her research focuses generally on atmospheric physics and particularly on climate dynamics, modelling, climate impact assessments. She has worked on both national and international projects and consultancies including the climate and health project in Ghana and the ongoing global CORDEX experiment and the ECOWAS – WMO consultancy on National Framework for Climate Services for Ghana. She is a Lead Author in Working Group 1 of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth Assessment Report (2018 to 2021). Also, she has co-authored a good number of journal article publications and academic books to her credit. The courses she teaches include General Physics, Cloud Physics, Atmospheric Irregularities, Climate Dynamics of Africa, and Regional Climate Modelling.
