Edem Boahen is originally from Ghana. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Ghana where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Afterward, he served as a teaching assistant during his national service period in the Mathematics department of the same university.

After that, he completed the Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences program at AIMS Ghana.

Edem is currently doing his Mphil at the University of Ghana, in partnership with AIMS Ghana under the supervision of Dr. P.K. Osei (AIMS Ghana) and Prof. Ulrich Krähmer (Dresden University).

He is particularly interested in Non-Commutative Algebra and Geometric Group theory.
