Edward Korveh Receives PhD and Begins Lectureship at the University of Ghana

At University of Ghana’s August 2024 Congregation Ceremony, Edward Korveh was celebrated for receiving his PhD, marking a significant achievement in his academic journey. Edward has exhibited exceptional dedication and scholarly prowess while working under the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Ghana – German Research Chair in Mathematics and its Applications, Prof. Olivier Menoukeu Pamen. This momentous occasion also highlights Edward as one of the first two Ph.D. graduates from the AIMS Ghana Research Centre, reflecting the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and innovative research.

Edward has accepted a lectureship position at the University of Ghana, where he will begin his new role in the upcoming academic year. His research focuses on Stochastic Optimal Control with Applications in Finance, emphasizing the practical implications of advanced mathematical concepts in real-world scenarios. Edward’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (2012), a Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences from AIMS Ghana (2014), and a double degree in Complex Systems Science from the University of Warwick (UK) and Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden).

His research interests are in “Maximum Principle for Financial Contagion” and “Risk-Based Valuation of Financial Derivatives Under Financial Contagion.”
