In a spirit of generosity and community building, the AIMS Ghana Mastercard Foundation Scholars recently visited Nyamedua Children’s Home, located at Nanakrom, Ashale Botwe in Accra on 3rd July 2024. Founded by Mr. Paul Anaba in February 2005, the orphanage is home to over 30 children ranging between ages 1 to 16. The visit was a significant part of the Scholars’ outreach program, where they made some food donations to the children.
During their visit, the Scholars had the opportunity to engage with the children and the director of the orphanage, Mr. Paul Anaba, to better understand the challenges faced by the home, especially in the context of the ongoing global changes. Mr. Anaba expressed his gratitude for the support received from various individuals, groups, and organizations, which have made managing the orphanage more comfortable. However, he highlighted the pressing needs that still require attention, such as student mattresses, a water storage tank, and essential school materials including books, stationery, school bags, lunch bowls, and footwear.
This outreach initiative by students at AIMS Ghana underscored the importance of community support and ethical leadership in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. By contributing their time, resources, and compassion, the Scholars not only provided immediate relief to Nyamedua Orphanage but also set an inspiring example of how education and leadership can drive positive change in society.
