AIMS Ghana Hosts Tanzanian Education Delegation: Exploring Future Collaborations

On August 30th, AIMS Ghana received a delegation from the Tanzanian Ministry of Education, led by Dr. Wilson Mahera Charles, the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology – Tanzania, responsible for primary and secondary education, underscoring the growing connections between institutions across Africa in the field of mathematical sciences. The delegation was warmly welcomed at AIMS Ghana’s campus where fruitful discussions were held on how both countries could collaborate to enhance STEM education and research.

During discussions, the Tanzanian delegation expressed their admiration for AIMS Ghana’s efforts in empowering young African scientists. The visit included an overview of AIMS’ innovative educational model, presented by the Centre President, Dr. Prince K. Osei, which focuses on equipping students with critical problem-solving skills through rigorous training in mathematical sciences.

Looking ahead, the delegation and AIMS Ghana leadership discussed various opportunities for collaboration, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint research projects, and tailored training initiatives aimed at fostering STEM education across Tanzania, Ghana and beyond. These discussions reflected a shared vision of advancing science and technology in Africa by leveraging each country’s strengths to create a transformative impact on the continent’s future.
