AIMS Ghana proudly celebrated the remarkable participation of its 2024/2025 Mastercard Foundation Scholars at the Baobab Summit held in Kenya from 17 – 19 October 2025, a gathering that brought together Africa’s brightest young leaders to discuss innovation, STEM, and the future of the continent. The summit provided a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking, and our Scholars made a lasting impression with their passion, confidence, and bold ideas.
Representing diverse countries across the continent, our delegates included Dickson Juma (Kenya), Bashira Naa Kwarley Quartey (Ghana), Anuoluwapo Dorcas Ajayi (Nigeria), Nimusiima Leticia (Uganda), Traoré Kamiya Hamed Lamine (Burkina Faso), Scholarstica Makafui Adzo Ackumey (Ghana), and Kwizerimana Prosper (Burundi). Each Scholar exemplified the AIMS Ghana spirit of excellence, collaboration, and innovation, engaging meaningfully with peers, sharing personal and academic journeys, and contributing to discussions on transformative solutions for Africa’s challenges.
The summit offered more than just networking opportunities; it was a space for our Scholars to showcase leadership, explore bold ideas, and deepen their understanding of the continent’s pressing needs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Their active participation highlighted not only individual brilliance but also the collective strength of AIMS Ghana’s training model, which equips young Africans to be catalysts for change in their communities.

Returning home, the Scholars carry with them fresh insights, expanded networks, and renewed determination to drive impact in their countries. The connections formed and ideas sparked at the Baobab Summit are expected to fuel future initiatives, collaborations, and projects that will shape Africa’s STEM and leadership landscape.
A special note of appreciation goes to Mrs. Beauty Beatrice Kwawu, Program Manager of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at AIMS Ghana, whose mentorship and guidance continue to empower our Scholars to maximize such transformative opportunities.
The Baobab Summit may have concluded, but the legacy of inspiration, innovation, and leadership lives on through these Scholars. With each breakthrough, collaboration, and bold step, they are building the future of Africa, one idea, one connection, one impact at a time.
