After a decade of journeying with our Centre to make impact and contribute to scientific excellence, you have witnessed the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Ghana, undergoing massive transformation recording many milestones. These milestones include our rise to the position of a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence in 2018. Additionally, over 360 of our alumni from 27 countries across the African continent are contributing to scientific transformation in both academia and industry.
As per our mandate, AIMS Ghana is collaborating with UNESCO and the Ministry of Education to lead Ghana in celebrating this year’s IDM which is themed ‘Mathematics Unites’. We are also going to use the day to launch the 10th Anniversary celebration of AIMS Ghana. The two celebrations will be marked with an event consisting of activities such as dialogs on the theme, outlining developments to boost female participation in Mathematics, unveiling of the AIMS Ghana @10 anniversary logo, showing of a video documentary on the impact of the AIMS Network as it promotes Mathematics and its Applications in Africa, amongst others.
