Mohammed Salifu is the Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). With over two decades of experience in higher education, he has contributed extensively through teaching, research, and service to industry and communities, as a transportation and road transport safety and logistics expert.
He is a Professor of Transport Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he previously served as Head of Department from 2010 to 2014.
He also held the position of Head of the Traffic and Transportation Engineering Division at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) from 2004 to 2006. A Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE), he served as their national Vice-President and Head of Education and Training from 2011 to 2012.
