Mariam Bukola Olateju received her Bachelor of Science degree, 2nd class upper division, from Lagos State University in Nigeria where she was the best graduating student in the department of Mathematics. She obtained her master’s degree in Mathematical Science from African Institute for Mathematical Science, Ghana.

Due to her interest in Financial Mathematics, her thesis was about Local volatility (Dupire Formula). Her research interest has always been tailored to Modeling Finance, for which she applied for Baum Tenper Pre Doctorate Program, where she was allowed to attend the program without fees because she is an AIMS alumni. Through this program, she was admitted to the PhD program in the department of Operation Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University. Bukola sees AIMS as a maths fashion ground; it displays its relevance in our society.
