Robert Yankson is a mathematics tutor at the St. Joseph’s Seminary Senior High School. With enough tools and concepts learnt at AIMS, Robert aims to expose young learners to the foundations of pure mathematics and its real-world applications while combining this role with active research. In his capacity, he has nurtured and prepared over 300 students for external examinations who turned out with excellent results.

Robert enrolled at AIMS Ghana after successfully completing his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Cape Coast. As a researcher, Robert engages in impactful and relatable research of significance to Ghana and Africa at large. With malaria as a focus, his study investigates the Geostatistical analysis and mapping of malaria risk in children under five years using point reference prevalence data in Ghana. His research also looks at the social and environmental determinants of under-five child mortality, with evidence from demographic and health survey data. At AIMS Ghana, Robert was introduced to applied statistics courses and tools, including statistical methods, R-studio and Python, which helped him develop his problem-solving expertise and improved on the quality of his research skills.
