Siyabonga obtained his BSc Computer Science and BSc (Hon) Mathematics from University of the Western Cape. He further completed his Masters at AIMS South Africa, with a focus in Categorical Topology. He is currently a Doctoral student at AIMS South Africa in the Algebra and Topology (AT AIMS) research group under Prof. David Holgate. His research work is in Higher Category Theory, particularly,
Fibrations of Double Categories. This involves a double categorical viewpoint of co-completeness and completeness of ordinary fibred
categories. He shares great passion for pure mathematics and art. Apart from mathematics, Siya loves painting, composed and pop-world music. Additionally, he spends time playing board games such as Chess. He has unimaginable love for honey badgers, as those are his favorite animals.
