Overview

AIMS Ghana is delighted to host researchers from diverse fields and varying levels of expertise in the Mathematical Sciences through our Visiting Researcher Program. We welcome experts from around the world, fostering a collaborative and conducive research environment that drives innovation.

Research interest areas may include: Stochastic Analysis and Applications, Singular Stochastic Differential Equations, Optimal Control, Controllability, Integrodifferential Equations, Game Theory, Dynamic Programming, Climate Change, and Quantum Algebra.

Visiting Researchers are invited to spend days, weeks, months, or even up to a full year at AIMS Ghana, making the most of their sabbatical leave or dedicating time to impactful research and mentorship.

Who Can Apply?

Eligibility to Apply as a Visiting Researcher:

  • Academic Qualifications – Applicants should hold a PhD in the Mathematical Sciences or a closely related field.
  • Research Experience – PhD holders should have an active research agenda including a track record of publications in reputable journals (if available).
  • Collaboration Potential – Researchers should be open to collaborations with lecturers, students and postdoctoral fellows.
  • Research Alignment – Proposed research projects should align with AIMS Ghana’s focus on mathematical sciences.
  • Teaching or Mentorship – While not mandatory, applicants who can offer guest lectures, workshops, or mentorship to AIMS Ghana students are welcome to do so.
  • International & Local Applicants – The program is open to both Ghanaian and international researchers from academic and research institutions worldwide.

Application Submission

Interested researchers should submit their applications at least five (5) months before their intended visit.
